We are seeking a Proposals Engineer to join our team and play a key role in delivering high-quality technical and commercial proposals that align with both client expectations and our organisational capabilities.
About the Role
As a Proposals Engineer, you will lead the development and submission of technical proposals and quotations. This role involves close collaboration with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to ensure solutions are accurate, competitive, and tailored to each unique project.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and submit detailed technical and commercial proposals based on customer specifications
Customise and configure UPS solutions to meet specific client needs and environments
Provide pre-sales technical support to internal teams and customers
Work with suppliers and third-party partners to source new components and technologies
Collaborate with R&D to share customer feedback and support continuous product improvement
Represent the company at trade shows, customer visits, and technical seminars
Maintain detailed documentation of customer interactions, feedback, and solutions provided
Experience and Qualifications
needed
Minimum 2 years of experience in sales engineering, technical sales, or a customer-facing engineering role
HND or Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
Experience within the UPS, battery, or power generation sectors
Hands-on experience with installation, product testing, or integration is desirable
Previous work as an electrician or engineer in an industrial setting will also be considered
Skills and Competencies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Commercial awareness and experience producing quotes and proposals
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Knowledge of UPS industry standards, electrical protocols, and backup power design principles
Awareness of defence and security sector requirements is an advantage
Working Conditions
Primarily office-based
Occasional travel to customer sites, trade shows, or training events
May include hands-on work in technical or manufacturing environments
